About the Role
We are seeking a high-agency, self-directed Marketing Designer to own the visual narrative, brand execution, and asset engine for The Ride Platform marketplaces. Reporting directly to the VP of Design, you will sit at the critical intersection of Brand, Product Design, and Integrated Marketing.
This is not a traditional production design role. You will act as a hybrid designer and content creator, responsible for executing full-funnel, multi-channel marketing communication design that drives measurable growth. You will design across the entire lifecycle—from top-of-funnel organic social campaigns to high-converting product marketing launches—building distinct, credible visual identities for both guests and hosts across both marketplaces.
To succeed on our lean, high-velocity team, you must be incredibly comfortable moving fast, building design systems from scratch, and architecting an AI-first design workflow using tools like Claude Design and Figma to exponentially scale asset throughput.
This role directly supports our two primary consumer-facing marketplaces:
- Outdoorsy.com: The leading global peer-to-peer RV rental and outdoor travel marketplace.
- Ride.auto: Our rapidly evolving experiential auto-rental and mobility marketplace.
Core Focus Areas
1. Dual-Marketplace Visual Strategy (Outdoorsy & Ride)
- Deconstruct, elevate, and scale the visual expressions for Outdoorsy.com and Ride.auto.
- Ensure both marketplaces maintain entirely distinct, credible brand voices and visual worlds that appeal to their specific demographics (e.g., outdoor/RV travelers vs. urban auto renters and owners).
- Design highly targeted, tailored creative assets tailored to the unique psychological drivers of two distinct customer sets: Guests (travelers/renters) and Hosts (vehicle owners/fleet operators).
2. Full-Lifecycle & Multi-Channel Design Execution
- Product Marketing: Partner with Product Design to translate complex product features, UI updates, and marketplace capabilities into digestible, high-converting launch assets, landing pages, and explanatory visual materials.
- Lifecycle Marketing: Craft cohesive, personalized visual experiences across email, push notifications, and in-app messages to maximize guest retention and host re-engagement.
- Organic Social & Content Creation: Act as a platform-native creator. Design short-form motion graphics, video overlays, social templates, and interactive assets optimized for channels like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Design Systems
- Embed deeply with the Integrated Marketing team to execute holistic campaign strategies from ideation to final delivery.
- Establish a seamless bridge to Product Design, ensuring marketing communications feel extensionally aligned with the in-app product experience.
- Champion the development, expansion, and scaling of multi-brand Marketing Design Systems, creating reusable template logic, components, and asset libraries in Figma to empower cross-functional teams.
- Directly manage, organize, and optimize our Digital Asset Management (DAM) tools to maintain a "single source of truth" for all marketing visual assets.
4. AI-First Design Workflow Architecture
- Pioneer, build, and continuously optimize a highly automated, AI-augmented design pipeline utilizing tools like Claude Design, Figma plugins, and generative asset tooling.
- Leverage AI to exponentially scale asset variations, run rapid localization/personalization experiments, and eliminate the friction of repetitive layout work, freeing up bandwidth for deep creative exploration.
Expected Outcomes & Measures of Success
- Velocity & Throughput: Successful deployment of an operational AI design pipeline within the first 90 days, significantly reducing the turnaround time for multi-variant marketing collateral.
- Systemization: Creation and documentation of a unified, component-driven marketing design system in Figma within 6 months, seamlessly bridging Outdoorsy and Ride brand aesthetics.
- Growth Metric Contribution: Demonstrable improvement in multi-channel performance metrics (e.g., ad click-through rates, email conversion spikes, social engagement lifts) directly linked to optimized, high-quality creative assets.
Who You Are (Candidate Profile)
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated communication design, marketing design, or creative execution experience, with a heavy emphasis on high-growth B2C consumer tech brands. Bonus points for direct experience in the travel, marketplaces, or mobility sectors.
- High Agency: You are fundamentally self-directed and thrive in fast-moving, dynamic environments. You don't wait for a rigid playbook—you write it.
- Hybrid Skillset: You possess strong foundational graphic design chops combined with robust motion design and digital content creation skills. You care deeply about typography and composition but understand how to make an asset move to capture attention.
- Tool Fluency: Masterful command of Figma and standard digital asset management ecosystems. Deeply fluent in, or actively experimenting with, AI-assisted design platforms (e.g., Claude Design).
- Growth Mindset: You treat design as a tool for business growth. You are obsessed with creative performance data, eager to look at conversion metrics, and design specifically to drive measurable optimization across all channels.
