In this role, you will work with the VP of People to plan, prioritize, and coordinate projects across the business and partner with all leaders throughout the organization. You will be in tune with the needs of the employees and strive to create an affirming and inclusive environment where everyone can be their authentic selves. This is a role of ownership and accountability throughout the employee lifecycle for your business units or departments.
This is a hybrid role and we're looking for candidates in the Austin, Texas area.
Your work at Outdoorsy:
- Co-leading an innovative and people strategy ensuring effective focus and positive impact on enhancing people and organization capability
- Advocate a positive employee experience and leverage your internal relationships to reinforce values-based ways of working across the organization proactively
- Independently lead the response to employee concerns, ensuring due process is followed and recommending a course of action consistent with company practices
- A source of information for all team members regarding HR processes and organizational policy guidance
- Participate and lead project work and initiatives for the People Team including developing a project plan, milestones and change management activities related to engagement surveys, DEI analysis and other inputs to the People Team around culture, engagement, and employee relation
- Strengthening company culture and competitive advantage by championing and building out programs that foster engagement, inclusivity, and diversity
- Monitors industry and the competition for potentially impactful people, organizations, and related management changes, trends, and challenges
- Point of contact for all personnel changes including HRIS as well as administration of onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and transfers
- In collaboration with Outdoorsy’s external council lead the visa and immigration process
- Support and manage all LOA including FMLA, medical leaves, and ADA accommodation requests
What you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- (5+) years of experience demonstrating knowledge of HR practices, legal rules, and regulations
- Experience with a global HR is strongly preferred
- Recent experience as an HR practitioner with a dispersed workforce
- Partner should bring people team best practices and should have experience creating and executing from previous roles
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills, including a commitment to producing quality results
- Exceptional organizational skills, ensuring that interviews are scheduled correctly
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proven ability to contribute in a high-paced environment that is ever-changing
- Ability to work within multiple time zones
- Ability to manage time effectively with little or no supervision
