About the Role

The General Manager will oversee and direct the daily operations of the Outdoorsy Hill Country property. They will be responsible for managing all aspects of the guest’s experience from food and beverage service to maintaining housekeeping standards to retail store operations. This role will support and guide all staff with policies, standards, procedures, and regulations to ensure an exceptional guest experience and operational efficiency. This role is seeking an experienced hospitality leader that is able to engage with and motivate staff while building long lasting relationships with guests. The General Manager should have a passion for creating meaningful and positive experiences for both guests and employees.

The General Manager will report to the VP of Operations. This is a full time position that requires the General Manager to be onsite during working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct a team of 10-15 staff members. Must be able to provide coaching, and create a positive work environment where employees feel empowered and motivated.
  • Be present onsite during working hours. The General Manager must be able to work an untraditional schedule that is built around the business’s needs. Must be available in the occurrence of after hours emergencies.
  • Operate the food and beverage program onsite. In charge of sourcing, ordering, and inventory management with emphasis on quality and efficiency. Produce an exceptional and consistent food and beverage service to guests.
  • Operate the retail store program onsite. Must keep high standards for inventory control and analysis. Able to communicate purchasing wants and needs of guests to VP of Operations.
  • Responsible for overseeing monetary transactions. Includes having a comprehensive knowledge of our Point of Sale system (Clover) and cash handling.
  • Ability to adapt to difficult situations concerning guests’ behavior. Must be able to maintain composure and de-escalate potentially harmful actions.
  • Key leader in achieving customer service metrics and NPS.
  • Manage a P&L. The General Manager is held accountable for strict maintenance of budgets set by the VP of Operations.
  • Responsible for market growth. The General Manager will be incentivized to hit their goals.
  • Daily delegation and leadership to ensure that all business functions and guest services exceed expectations.
  • Implementation of policies, procedures, standards and regulations. Must be able to clearly communicate all expectations to employees and guests when applicable.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Availability to be onsite within an hour (must live within 1-hour drive of the grounds-No further south than Boerne, west than Kerrville, north than Fredericksburg, east than Dripping Springs
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Food and Beverage operations. Including but not limited to menu knowledge, food and beverage sourcing, inventory management, and ordering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hospitality experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing a multifunction workforce
  • Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Acute attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Refined communication skills via written, in-person conversation, and remote video and audio conferencing
  • Ability to manage a diverse staff. You must lead with empathy, understanding, and comprehensive knowledge of each person’s job function.
  • Excited and passionate about working with children and families
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the business demands
  • Ability to lift 15-25 pounds
  • Able to be on their feet for 8 hours a day
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

  • New build construction and/or opening team experience
  • Newbook software proficiency

Salary: $60,000-$75,000

We continue to have our home and headquarters in Austin, Texas, but we have embraced a distributed model of working to reach the best talent in the United States and globally. While some roles may require proximity to our Austin office, roles based outside of our Austin office can sit in any of the following 21 US states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, MN, MO, MT, NV, OH, OK, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA and WV. The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with potentially applicable laws. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and bonus dependent upon position.
