Zubale is a technology company that enables retailers to win in eCommerce in Latin America. We partner with a wide range of retailers from supermarkets, specialty stores, pharmacies, department stores and fashion brands to help them win in eCommerce. How? We have three key products:

1) Flexifleet: Marketplace of freelancers to pick-pack-ship ecommerce orders

2) Ecommerce Fulfillment software

What You Will Do

• Be responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of data engineering processes, tools, and integration across various data sources within the organization.
• Design and implement strategies for database architecture and ETL/ELT pipelines in GCP and PostgreSQL, including both batch and near-real-time (NRT) pipeline implementations.
• Design and implement AI-driven pipelines and AI-Agents to integrate all the Data related tasks (Data Quality, Data Discovery and Data Governance).
• Define and standardize data quality metrics, while building robust monitoring and reporting frameworks to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Build and maintain a trusted relationship with internal customers, demonstrating a deep understanding of business needs and challenges.
• Lead projects aimed at achieving high-quality, cost-effective, and optimized data processes, testing, and experimenting with new tools and technologies to drive innovation.

The skills and experience you will bring

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering with strong GCP skills (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run Jobs).
• Deep understanding of data governance, quality, and access control.
• Experience with batch or streaming tools/platforms such as Kafka, Flint, Spark, etc.
• Familiarity with the infrastructure needs of AI systems (e.g., context APIs, event-driven design).
• Experience with Kubernetes and virtual environments.
• Extensive experience with data engineering tools, languages, and frameworks to mine, cleanse, and explore data.
• Programming Skills with proficiency in SQL, Python, and Bash are required. Additional experience in one or more additional programming languages such as Scala, R, or Java is a plus.
• Experience in leading teams or managing people in a technical capacity.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Version control and collaboration using Git and GitHub.

Nice To Have

• Previous experience working for a fast-growing startup.
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, or Grafana for metrics collection, visualization, and alerting.
• Experience with AI-Agents Ecosystems and hands-on experience.
