Position Description
Starfish has developed the Otter satellite servicing vehicle to provide life extension and end of life disposal services for satellites in LEO and GEO. This position will support systems engineering related to the Otter and its subsystems, and mission design as we progress towards the first Otter launches. This position will support the development of Starfish technologies, and relies on space and satellite knowledge combined with system design skills. This role may involve tasks ranging from analysis, to systems design, to satellite payload testing and integration.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee)
- Willing to work from Tukwila, Washington
- Engineering or sciences education or experience
- Capable of working in a dynamic, fast paced startup environment
- Capable of writing software
- Available for a Summer 2026 internship (at least 10 weeks in length)
Desired Experience
- Enrolled in Aerospace Engineering or similar degree program
- Programming experience in Python and/or C++
- Experience working with satellites or other space systems
