Position Description
Satellite servicing missions require autonomous, robotic actions in orbit. At Starfish, we have developed the Otter servicing vehicle to extend the lives of satellites in Geostationary Orbit and dispose of space debris in Low-Earth Orbit. This role will support the manufacturing and ongoing development of Starfish hardware components, including the proprietary Nautilus capture mechanism and Manta robotic arm. This role may have tasks ranging from designing in CAD, to contributing to prototype and flight model manufacturing, to executing and analyzing hardware testing.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US person (citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee)
  • Willing to work from Tukwila, Washington
  • Engineering or sciences education or experience
  • Capable of working a dynamic, fast paced startup environment
  • Interested in a Summer 2026 internship (at least 10 weeks in length)

Desired Experience

  • Enrolled in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar degree program (undergraduate or Master’s / PhD)
  • Mechanical prototyping experience
  • Working knowledge of mechanical engineering
  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering a plus
  • Working knowledge of satellite components and technologies
