Position Description
Satellite servicing missions require autonomous, robotic actions in orbit. Starfish Space has developed the Otter servicing vehicle to extend the lives of satellites in Geostationary Orbit and dispose of space debris in Low-Earth Orbit. This role will support the manufacturing and ongoing development of Starfish hardware components, and relies heavily on electrical engineering and electromechanical prototyping skills. This role will do everything ranging from designing electrical schematics and PCB layouts, to contributing to prototype and flight model manufacturing, to executing and analyzing hardware tests.
Qualifications
- Must be a US person (citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee)
- Willing to work from Tukwila, Washington
- Engineering or sciences education or experience
- Capable of working a dynamic, fast paced startup environment
- Interested in a Summer 2026 internship (at least 10 weeks in length)
Desired Experience
- Enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar degree program (undergraduate or Master’s / PhD)
- Electrical prototyping experience
- Working knowledge of electrical engineering
- Working knowledge of electrical systems for space applications a plus
