Location: London / Milan (flexible)
Duration: 3–6 months (with full-time potential)
About Shop Circle
Shop Circle is a fast-growing, AI-first technology company on a mission to build the infrastructure layer for modern businesses.
We acquire and scale mission-critical B2B software companies globally, serving 200,000+ businesses across a wide range of vertical markets.
With a focus on high-quality, profitable software, we combine centralised AI capabilities with strong operational execution to drive revenue growth and efficiency across our portfolio.
We operate as long-term owners — prioritising high retention, strong cash generation, and continuous product improvement through AI.
The Role
We’re looking for an Intern Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO and leadership team on high-impact initiatives across strategy, operations, M&A, and AI.
You’ll operate at the centre of the company — with exposure across acquisitions, product, and execution. This is not a passive observer role; it’s designed for someone who wants to build, test, and execute, not just analyse.
Expect real ownership, fast decision-making, and direct contribution to company-defining initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Partner directly with the CEO on strategic priorities (AI roadmap, acquisitions, growth initiatives)
- Support M&A processes: sourcing, market mapping, target evaluation, and financial analysis
- Build internal strategy documents, board materials, and reporting frameworks
- Drive operational projects across portfolio companies (pricing, CX, product improvements)
- Research AI applications, vertical software markets, and competitive dynamics
- Act as a force multiplier — removing bottlenecks, structuring problems, and accelerating execution
Who You Are
- Master’s degree or MBA (or in final year)
- Background in finance, consulting, investing, engineering, or similar
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
- Clear interest in software, AI, and technology businesses
- Fluent in English
- High ownership mindset with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment
What Stands Out
- Experience in MBB, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or high-growth startups
- Understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, NDR, unit economics)
- Exposure to AI tools, automation, or coding (Python, SQL, JavaScript basics)
- Ability to bridge technical and business perspectives
- Interest in buy-and-build / software roll-up strategies
What You’ll Get
- Direct exposure to CEO-level decision-making
- Hands-on experience across M&A, strategy, and AI implementation
- A steep learning curve across finance, product, and operations
- Strong potential for a full-time role in strategy, M&A, AI, or product
If you want to learn how an AI-first software platform is built from the inside — this is where you start.
