The RoleThis is a standalone, cross-functional role within the Lender Strategy team focused on owning Lev's lender data, driving AI-based workflows, and generating proprietary market insights. The Director of Data & Intelligence will work across Capital Markets, Product, and Engineering to ensure data quality, power automation, and establish Lev as a market thought leader.
Core ResponsibilitiesLender Data Ownership
- Act as the source of truth for lender data, to ensure data is up-to-date and accurately structured
- Maintain clean associations between lenders and historical transactions
- Define rules for which data points impact the platform and user experience
AI & Workflow Automation
- Develop and iterate on prompts for lender matching, rerouting, pass reasons, and program updates
- Partner with Product/Engineering to spec, test and iterate on AI-powered features and automation, including prompt improvements and quality assurance
- Own the backlog of AI-driven workflow improvements that fall between departments
Data Infrastructure & Integrations
- Independently query and analyze lender data; coordinate with Engineering for pipeline or system-level needs
- Evaluate third-party data vendors and lead ingestion strategy if valuable
- Build internal dashboards to support leadership decision-making where needed
Market Insights & Thought Leadership
- Partner with internal stakeholders to regularly publish internal and external data reports on capital markets trends, lender behavior, and term movement
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, strategy, or operations roles with a strong track record of cross-functional collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to independently query and analyze data using SQL; working knowledge of Python or interest in learning for light scripting or automation tasks is a plus
- Hands-on experience with AI/LLM workflows, including prompt development, quality evaluation, and iterative optimization; experience with commercial LLMs or orchestration tools (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain, etc.) is a bonus
- Proficient in designing dashboards and communicating insights using modern BI tools (e.g., Retool, Looker, Tableau); able to distill complex data into actionable internal narratives
- Comfortable navigating ambiguous, cross-functional environments and managing end-to-end projects across Product, Engineering, and Business teams
- Prior exposure to modern data stacks (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, dbt) is a plus, though not required
- Strong understanding of or interest in commercial real estate finance; experience with CRE capital markets data or lender behavior is a significant plus
- Excellent organizational and written communication skills, particularly in documenting data rules, defining workflows, and articulating insights to non-technical stakeholders
