Performance Marketing Lead

HoneyBook is the leading AI-powered business management platform for service-based business owners. Designed to enhance—not replace—independent professionals, HoneyBook’s AI-powered tools help businesses attract leads, connect with clients, book projects, and manage payments more efficiently. With AI seamlessly integrated into every workflow, entrepreneurs can focus on their craft while scaling their businesses with confidence. Since its founding in 2013, HoneyBook has powered over 25 million client relationships and processed more than $12 billion in transactions, helping independent businesses grow faster and smarter.

Our culture is built on five core values that inform everything we do. We encourage collaboration, feedback, ownership and have a growth mindset. We know experience comes in many different forms, some visible on your resume, others not. If you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-charged, people focused environment and have similar experience to what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.

Performance marketing has been one of HoneyBook's biggest growth engines, and we're looking for a senior leader to take it into its next chapter - full-funnel, AI-accelerated, and built to keep scaling efficient acquisition of independent business owners across every vertical we serve.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll own paid acquisition strategy, budget, and team, while partnering closely with brand, lifecycle, product marketing, finance, and data. You'll be expected to have a strong point of view on where the channel mix is going, how measurement should evolve in a privacy-first world, and how to use AI to compound your team's output without compromising creative quality or brand.

What you'll own

  • Paid media strategy, budget allocation, and performance across the full mix: paid search, paid social, podcasts, YouTube/CTV, display, retargeting, and emerging channels.
  • A full-funnel approach that pairs efficient DR with brand and awareness investment, with a clear thesis on how the two reinforce each other.
  • An always-on testing roadmap across channels, audiences, creative, landing pages, and bidding - with a real incrementality and MMM practice, not just last-click.
  • Managing The performance marketing team: hiring, coaching, and developing senior ICs into stronger operators and future leaders.
  • Forecasting and pacing in partnership with finance and data - including business cases for new channels and budget shifts.
  • Creative velocity: tight collaboration with brand and creative teams to ship more, better-performing assets, faster.
  • Executive-level reporting on what's working, what isn't, and what we're learning.
  • Relationships with platform and ad-ecosystem partners (Google, Meta, TikTok, podcast networks, measurement vendors, etc.).

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years in digital and performance marketing, with at least 3+ leading a team and owning a meaningful media budget (8-figure annual).
  • Track record of scaling acquisition in a high-growth prosumer/SMB SaaS environment. Bonus if you've marketed to independent business owners or service-based businesses.
  • Real fluency across paid search, paid social, and at least two of: podcasts, CTV/YouTube, programmatic, creator/affiliate.
  • Strong opinions on modern measurement - MMM, incrementality testing, server-side tracking, first-party data - and the judgment to know when to use which.
  • Demonstrated ability to build full-funnel programs that pair brand and DR, not just optimize last-click.
  • Comfort using AI tools in your day-to-day workflow - for creative iteration, audience analysis, reporting, and agent-assisted campaign ops - and a point of view on where AI should and shouldn't replace human judgment in this function.
  • Excellent communicator. You can move from a CFO conversation about CAC payback to a creative brief without losing the room.
  • Analytically rigorous and operationally sharp. You build systems, not just dashboards.
