About the role:

We are seeking a Lead Web Developer to drive the technical transformation of HoneyBook’s marketing site as we transition from a Gatsby server-side rendering framework to Webflow. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of a robust, scalable infrastructure that empowers the marketing team to rapidly experiment, integrate new features, and connect with third-party tools—while maintaining the highest quality standards.

You’ll work at the intersection of marketing and product development, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment on goals, best practices, and technical excellence. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in the Webflow platform (including advanced customization through JavaScript), with exceptional problem-solving skills, a commitment to high-quality independent work, and a collaborative mindset.

This is an opportunity to shape the new face of HoneyBook’s marketing site from the ground up—playing a key role in both our replatforming and rebranding efforts—while making a lasting impact on how we attract and engage our audience.

This role is hybrid to our New York hub, and requires an in-office presence 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday).

Here are a few of the things you will do:

  • Contribute to the technical strategy and infrastructure of HoneyBook’s marketing site as we migrate from Gatsby to Webflow, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Build and maintain a robust Webflow ecosystem, including custom code (JavaScript and integrations) to extend platform functionality where needed.
  • Support monitoring, logging, and error tracking systems to help proactively identify and resolve site issues.
  • Implement integrations with third-party tools and services (e.g., analytics, personalization, experimentation platforms, consent management, chat, authentication).
  • Follow and advocate best practices for development workflows, version control, and deployment—ensuring smooth collaboration with marketing, design, and engineering.
  • Contribute to performance optimization, improving site speed, accessibility, SEO, and Core Web Vitals across marketing pages.
  • Partner with the marketing team to translate campaign needs into scalable solutions without compromising site quality or maintainability.
  • Help maintain overall site health, including uptime, analytics accuracy, and compliance with security and privacy standards.

Here is what we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • Technical expertise & accountability — you bring strong experience in front-end development and care deeply about performance, scalability, and site quality.
  • Growth & experimentation mindset — you’re comfortable with A/B testing, CRO, and making iterative improvements based on data.
  • Collaborative approach — you work well with marketing, design, and engineering teams to translate creative and business goals into sound technical solutions.
  • Problem-solving & adaptability — you diagnose complex issues, implement sustainable fixes, and adapt to evolving business and technical needs.
  • Commitment to best practices — you value clean, maintainable code, robust workflows, and compliance with security and privacy standards.

Here is what is needed:

  • At least 5 years of front-end development experience with a track record of working on high-traffic marketing websites, including at least 2+ years of hands-on Webflow and advanced custom JavaScript experience.
  • Experience maintaining site infrastructure with monitoring, logging, and error tracking.
  • Strong background integrating and managing third-party tools and APIs (analytics, personalization, experimentation platforms, authentication, consent management, chat).
  • Solid performance optimization skills, with an understanding of Core Web Vitals, accessibility, SEO best practices, caching strategies, and deployment workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities, with a focus on scalable solutions and good QA practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with marketing, design, and engineering teams, translating creative and business goals into maintainable solutions.
  • Familiarity with analytics and monitoring tools such as Segment, Mixpanel, GA4, and Datadog, plus A/B testing and CRO experimentation frameworks.
