HoneyBook is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our growing Global Finance team. The Ideal candidate is a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, independent person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Here are a few of the things you will do:
- Support various aspects of accounting management, including billing, tax forms, and financial reporting.
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with legislation and established best practices.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring they comply with official guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Manage journal entries, and account reconciliations for monthly or annual closings.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Participate in the preparation and coordination of the annual audit.
- Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
- Utilize accounting IT systems to facilitate processes and maintain accurate records.
- Open and close purchase orders (POs).
- Perform all activities related to accounts payable, including processing new vendors, recording invoices and processing payments to vendors.
- Manage bank and credit cards reconciliations and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Support in VAT and vendor tax withholding reports to Israeli authorities.
- Recording daily financial transactions.
- Perform month-end closing and reporting includes manage accruals and prepaid expenses, filling out working papers, accounts reconciliation.
- Review and process expense reimbursements and travel reports.
Here is what is needed:
- Completion of an internship at one of the Big 4 accounting firms.
- At least 1 year of professional experience gained subsequent to the internship.
- BA degree in Accounting.
- Professional CPA certification.
- Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulations.
- Excellent understanding of accounting and financial processes, including budgeting, financial closures, and auditing.
- Strong data analysis and forecasting skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, and experience with accounting software (experience with Netsuite - an advantage).
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
