Position Summary:
We’re seeking an experienced Controller to own the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions as we scale. This role will ensure the integrity of our financial data, streamline cross-functional processes, and enable leadership to make data-driven decisions with confidence.
The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with operational savvy — someone who can move seamlessly from daily reconciliations to building a scalable close process and supporting strategic planning.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all accounting operations including AR, AP, payroll, and general ledger.
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely, accurate financials.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for leadership and board review.
- Manage consolidated reporting across multiple entities and business units.
- Partner with Exec Management to support forecasting, budgeting, and KPI tracking.
Accounting Systems & Process Optimization
- Manage integrations across Zoho, QuickBooks, payroll providers, and banking portals to ensure data integrity.
- Streamline and document accounting workflows, approvals, and reconciliation processes.
- Implement internal controls and accounting policies aligned with GAAP.
- Identify and execute process improvements to shorten close cycles and reduce manual work.
Cash Flow & Operations
- Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and vendor payment schedules.
- Oversee AR collections, credit card programs, and expense management systems.
- Support revenue recognition policies and cost tracking for marketplace and enterprise projects.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with tax filings, state registrations, and reporting obligations.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax preparers, and banking partners.
- Maintain accurate documentation for diligence and financing activities.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations, procurement, and sales to ensure financial visibility across the business.
- Support leadership with insights to guide strategic decisions.
- Develop and mentor finance staff as the team grows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
- Proven experience managing AR/AP, cash flow, and month-end close in a high-growth or multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and cost accounting.
- Expertise with QuickBooks Online, Zoho, and related financial systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
