Description

You are looking for a job that will truly engage you. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and can make things happen in a fast-paced startup environment. You want to grow and be challenged, but above all you want to work towards a mission, and for your work to have meaning.

We’re Darrow - a fast-growing legal tech startup with an open, action-based culture unlike any other. We are committed to pursuing our vision of "frictionless justice," using advanced Machine Learning & AI to revolutionize the justice system. Our mission is about justice at scale: imagine walking into work every day knowing that you’re not only advancing your career but making a positive impact on the world. Darrow has more than 110 team members in Tel Aviv and New York, and is backed by world class investors: Georgian, F2 Venture Capital, Entree Capital, NFX and YCombinator

Not Your Average Role

We’re a team of data experts and legal practitioners who deploy data, machine learning, and AI to monitor the web and discover undetected legal violations. By doing so, we bring them to light and justice — securing compensation for victims and deterring bad actors from wrongdoing.

We created an open, action-based culture unlike any other, based on the shared values of creating an impact and making a change. Our mission is about impact at scale, and we provide our team members with access to the resources they need to get the work done.

This is where you come in.

About the Role

We're looking for a talented Legal Consultant to orchestrate Darrow’s Legal Consulting team and build strong relationships with our partners to help bring justice to light. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, who works comfortably under pressure, has a problem-solving mindset, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, including support for complex transactions.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations, including various State Bar Rules; provide day-to-day compliance guidance; develop clear policies and training; and work with external experts as needed.
  • Manage litigation activity, develop and maintain a practical litigation playbook.
  • Provide support on U.S. employment matters, collaborating with the People team on policies and employee-related issues.
  • Develop legal playbooks, processes, training materials, and tools that enable consistent, scalable execution across teams.
  • Track legal and regulatory developments, translate changes into actionable guidance, and deliver clear updates and training to internal teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of legal experience with a strong combination of law firm and in-house work, ideally including meaningful litigation experience.
  • Proven in-house counsel experience in a heavily regulated environment, handling commercial, compliance, and operational work with strong regulatory judgment.
  • Strong commercial contracting skills, including drafting and negotiating complex transactions.
  • Experience supporting GTM, sales, or operational teams with practical, business-oriented legal guidance.
  • Ability to build legal processes, knowledge databases, playbooks, and internal workflows that scale in a fast-growth environment.
  • Strong judgment and excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating autonomously, juggling multiple priorities, and delivering clear, timely guidance in a dynamic environment.
  • J.D. and active membership in a U.S. state bar (NY preferred).

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental & Vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • $150 weekly Grubhub credit for lunches.
  • Unlimited paid time off policy.
  • Hybrid work model - onsite 3 days/week.
  • Eligibility to participate in a stock option plan to give our employees a direct stake in Darrow’s success.
  • Darrow provides a reasonable range of compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of pay (base salary) for this role is $170,000 - $220,000.
