Our Finance team is growing, and we are looking for a Financial Analyst to join the team.

Not Your Financial Analyst Role

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting our company’s financial stability and strategic direction through the valuation of legal assets and business development initiatives. You will play an instrumental role in designing and tracking business cases to align with our strategic objectives. This position requires a high level of analytical prowess, creativity, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of legal assets to establish valuation methodologies, utilizing robust analytical techniques to assess risks and potential returns.
  • Design, develop, and maintain business cases, incorporating statistical analysis and projections to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools to create models and generate insightful reports.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple departments, including R&D, legal, sales, finance, and strategic planning, to collect essential data and insights.
  • Continuously monitor the value of assets and performance of business cases against projections, identify trends, and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Support the strategic planning process by providing accurate and timely financial analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or LLB is an advantage.
  • MA in Economics is an advantage
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with experience in analyzing large datasets using advanced data analysis techniques to derive high-value insights.
  • Proficiency in analysis tools and software such as Excel, BI tools, and SQL is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, build relationships, and influence decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proactive, problem-solving attitude with a business partnering orientation and a can-do approach.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in underwriting, financial analysis, or a related field, particularly in the context of litigation assets, is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
