Who is Cord?
Cord is a team of veteran engineers, designers, and product leaders from companies like Facebook, Google, Adobe and others, that brings the power of collaboration to every app. We’ve loved working together in products like Figma and Notion, and believe the rest of the internet should feel like that: connected, collaborative, multiplayer.
Our tools shape how we work, and at Cord we’re building out a massive vision: connecting teams across all of their tools, letting them collaborate in context, staying in flow and enjoying powerful, rich modes of communication and productivity. At the same time, we enable SaaS vendors plug in a platform that solves collaboration for them in the best way possible, letting them focus on the unique value they add instead of chasing to reinvent chat.
Cord was founded by an early Facebook engineer and a PM from one of Facebook’s acquisitions. It’s backed by the world’s top investors, who’ve built multi-billion $ companies and led the early investments in companies like Slack, Notion, Figma, Stripe, Robinhood and others. They believe our mission to make collaboration at work more effective will create the next exciting brand and make a dent in how teams accomplish things together, and they’re in it to help us do that. What’s the opportunity?
As an Account Executive, you’ll set the pace for growth at Cord, owning the full sales cycle.
This is a really exciting opportunity to sell a truly innovative product that developers love. And it’s exactly the right time to join a well funded, Series A startup and grow with the company. The first people who come into the team will have the opportunity to help with the structures and processes, shape the team, and become the future leaders for sales at Cord.
As a founding AE, you’ll work with our VP of Sales in Dublin and play an invaluable role in Cord’s growth strategy and ability to achieve company goals. You’ll be an individual contributor focusing solely on driving new business, selling to prospects and managing qualified leads generated.

What will I be doing?
Like all startup roles, there will be a huge mix of work. You might be giving a demo to an industry-leading SaaS company one day and helping folks through their POC the next. You’re both steering at 30,000 feet, and sweeping the driveway.
Responsibilities
- Be a key player on a high-performing sales team at one of London’s most exciting Series A startups
- Acquire new logos and build relationships with key stakeholders in client organizations, from product and engineering leadership to c-level
- Own the full sales cycle from outreach to proof of concept to close
- Drive an amazing sales process to hit (and exceed!) your monthly and quarterly goals
This role probably isn't for you if you:
- Dislike operating independently without an established playbook
- Are looking for a BAU role with incremental targets in a structured environment
- Are uncomfortable selling developer products like APIs and SDKs to engineering stakeholders
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as an Account Executive at a high-growth SaaS
- Experience selling 6-figure deals to engineering and product leaders
- A high standard of excellence and a track record of high achievement, hitting or exceeding previous quotas
- Pioneering spirit and builder mentality
- Peerless communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional drive and hustle balanced with a customer-first mindset and values
- You’re a team player and fun to be around
Nice to have, though not necessary:
- Experience selling SDKs
- Experience in Salesforce is a plus
